First comes love...

Then comes marriage
The comes the baby in the baby carriage my 2nd anniversary!!

WOW! Time flies when your in love! It's about 3 1/2 weeks until my wedding anniversary and I still feel like a newlywed! Just this week while cooking (something I am working on) I used some of my wedding gifts for the first time! It only took me two years to use them once, but they are getting used aren't they. Now we have pretty much used everything we have gotten as a wedding gift at least once. Some I use on a weekly or even daily basis. My problem is that we got a lot of gifts for our kitchen because we literally didn't have anything for a kitchen when we got married. We registered for a ton of stuff because we knew that we would need and use it. There is however one key part to using those awesome kitchen gifts that I got at all my bridal showers...

You have to cook.

Well, lets just say that we are working on that. Mr. D and I struggle with cooking at home on a regular basis because we are both full time college students, and when Mr. D works, his schedule is usually something similar to 3pm-9pm. It just gets hard when we are both all over the place and aren't always going to be eating dinner together. Oh, and I know what you are thinking.. leftovers right? Wrong.. we pretty much suck at that too. Sooo.. this week we made a pact to eat every meal but one at home. This is huge for us in case you haven't figured that out already. We got tons of good food at the grocery store and we have been cooking together which has been fun. I have been eating leftover for lunch and it's not so bad. You just have to remember that they are there, which I usually forget that they are. However, we have made it to Friday and I am pretty darn proud of us! This eating at home thing seems to be much healthier and it saves a lot of money too. :)

Everybody loves money, right?

I sure could use a little bit more of it right about now. Mr. D's birthday is coming up in 11 days (Feb. 12), the lets us not forget Valentines Day, then there is MY 2ND ANNIVERSARY!!!! I am so excited.. I feel like I am about to get a prize or something for being married two years. By the way, does anyone know when the "Newlywed" status ends? I still want to be a newlywed. Am I still one or did that end after the 1st anniversary? Somebody needs to let me know, and until then, I'M STILL A NEWLYWED! :) I mean I feel like one after all. We haven't even gotten the whole cooking thing down yet.. that should count for something I think. So back to the whole needing money thing and my 2nd anniversary. We decided that instead of getting each other anniversary gifts each year, we would much rather travel. For our first anniversary, we took a vacation down in San Antonio and had a blast down on the Riverwalk. Well, we were starting to plan our trip for this year when my father passed away and I was totally sidetracked with everything else life has handed me. Then I realized the other day that we still don't have a clue as to what we are doing. I am thinking that we are going to drive somewhere fairly close (5hrs or less) and stay for a little while. We live in the north part of the DFW metroplex so I'm thinking that Dallas or Ft. Worth are out of the question.

HELP!! I need your ideas, tips, anything!! If there is something cool around DFW then we could consider it. Let me know what you all think please!

Congratulations on your second anniversary!!

I'm so glad you like my little blog. :) Yours is super cute too!!

I love all the goals you and your hubby are setting. Great idea about the meals!

About the place to go...I'm from OKC and LOVE road trips so I'm kinda familiar with your area, I suggest Austin. It's such a nice town and there is always something going on. Hope that helps! :)

Have a great weekend!

I don't know if New Orleans is something you'd enjoy but DH and I will be there for Mardi Gras on the week of 2/23! That would be a fun way to celebrate.
