I think TV hates me

Okay, let me start by saying this..

We don't have tv!

Yes, we do have a tv, two actually, but we choose to no longer have satellite or cable service anymore. With work and school, we do not have enough time to watch TV to justify the cost. I do get all of the regular ABC, NBC, Fox, etc channels crystal clear and that is good enough for me. Most of the stuff I like comes on those channels anyway. Also because I am so busy, I can be bad about remembering when certain shows come on, so we like to just buy seasons on dvd. It's easier, no commercials, I can watch them at any time I want. It's great!

Except when the show I like gets cancelled...

Example number one: Dirty Sexy Money

Example number two: Arrested Development

Example number three: Lipstick Jungle

Example number five: The O.C. (at least it had 4 seasons before it got cancelled)

Example number four: What About Brian? (does anyone even remember this show? it aired in 2006)

Why does this keep happening to me?

The good thing is that my absolute favorite shows are not getting cancelled anytime soon. I hope I didn't just jinx them!

Favorite number one: LOST

Favorite number two: Greys Anatomy

Favorite number three: Private Practice

Does this happen to anyone else? What do you all watch? Any recommendations?

I absolutely LOVED Dirty Sexy Money!! I am really bummed that it got cancelled. I have been hearing that Lipstick Jungle might not be really over...hoping it's true because I got hooked on it too.

I don't even watch stuff on TV, I watch it all online (abc.com, nbc.com, etc.). They still have little 15 second commercials to put up with, but then I can watch my shows (Grey's, Private Practice and Lost) whenever I have time.

Gilmore Girls, Pushing Daisies, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - RIP!!! I don't know what I'll do when LOST ends. It's my favorite!

I don't understand what went on during the 2nd season of the OC.

My recommendation: How I Met Your Mother.

It's awesome.

I get so mad too when they cancel shows. I am super excited about the Arrested Development movie, it is going to rock!

Hey there! Jeff and I have just started watching Lost from the beginning. You can watch all 5 seasons (98 episodes) at ABC.com anytime you want. This has been a good thing (so we can catch up) and a bad thing (because all we want to do is watch one right after another). Enjoy! http://abc.go.com/player/index?pn=index&showId=93372

We do the exact same thing, we buy all of our TV shows on DVD, because we don't have satellite!

I am so mad they canceled Arrested Development, that was seriously my favorite show!

UGH - Yes! I use to watch a show back in high school called "American Dreams" with Brittany Snow and I LOVED IT! It was out for three seasons and then got canceled. Boo. THEN, they only put out the first season on DVD I guess thinking the 2nd and 3rd wasn't worth it! I currently am watching Lie to Me and Kings but I don't think anyone else is so I am preparing for them to get canceled too :(

I LOVE Private Practice & Grey's (although Grey's is getting weirder & weirder).

I'm also addicted to Friday Night Lights....very good show!

i'm with you, loved Dirty Sexy Money...great show & so sad to see it go. sadly, if it is not on TLC, A&E, or ESPN we probably don't watch it {except for Grey's}. I am a huge fan of Mad Men on AMC, which can also be purchased on DVD (i think) and is fantastic!

Oh Burn Notice for SURE!

Yep. I'm with you. And I personally loved What About Brian?

But if they cancel Lost, I will revolt. In the streets. That would just be unacceptable.
