Is your thumb green?

So this post was inspired by The New Mrs. over at NEWLYWEDS. She wrote this post a few days ago about not having any luck with keeping plants alive. I used to have the exact. same. problem. It did not matter what kind of plant you gave me, I just couldn't keep it alive no matter how hard I tried.

When my dad passed away at the end of last year, there were TONS of plants sent to the funeral home. After everything was done, I came back home with five plants determined to keep them alive! I immediately turned to the internet for help and I came across this website and it has saved my life! Well, my plants life, but you know what I mean. You can search for your plants in their Plant Encyclopedia and it will tell you exactly how to care for them. What temperature they like, lighting preferences, watering and planting instructions, and much more useful information.

This website has helped me tremendously and I just wanted to pass it along to you all. I know a lot of people are starting to get outside and do some gardening now that the weather is nice. The pictures do not include every plant I have, but I just wanted to share with you all that I have proudly kept these green babies alive for the past 4 months!!

These photos below were just for fun. I was playing with the different color effects on my camera. I thought they were pretty cool.

I just wanted to pass along this extremely helpful website (PlantCare.com) so hopefully it can help those of you that don't exactly have a "green" thumb. Good luck and happy gardening! :)

My hubby has such a green thumb! unfortunately I killed all our "love ferns" the first week he went away. Haha! I fear that my thumb is just beige? :(

Happy gardening (what a fun phrase) and happy weekend!

Thanks for the website tip! My first attempt at flowers this year are doing alright, but I'm sure they'll be joining the flower grave-yard pretty soon.

Wow, thank you for sharing that website. Just when I thought I was helpless, I think that site may be the cure I need for my brown thumb :) I appreciate it so much, you have no idea!

Well done, it is definitely hard to keep plants alive! I'm definitely having issues with it!

P.S. I LOVE the pic of your husband kissing your nose. Jon always kisses me nose! That's a precious picture!

I will have to check out the website because I kill everything. I am working on keeping the tomatoe plants my mom gave me alive. Cross your fingers. Thanks for the help.
