Answers to your Questions! Part 1

Sorry I took so long to post my answers to your questions! I didn't realize how much moving and school would keep me away from my computer. I loved answering all of your questions! This is the first of three answer posts.

*kimmie* @ Full Circle asked:

Have you always lived in Dallas? Where did you each live before there if not?
No, we have not always lived in Dallas. We are from the East Texas, piney woods, allergy capital of the world, area. I'm from a larger city and Mr. D is from a smaller city about 20 minutes away from where I grew up.

What would you miss the most if you were to live somewhere other than Dallas and what would you miss the least?
I love sports! I love the fact that we have the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, and the Dallas Mavericks all in one area. We also love going to concerts and there are multiple venues that you can usually find something that fits your interests.
As far as what I wouldn't miss, that simple. TRAFFIC! Say 635 for example! :)

What's your favorite thing to cook/bake?
Banana bread, muffins, and cupcakes. Did I ever mention that me and my sister-in-law made 72 cupcakes in one day a few weeks ago?

Blondie @ Blondie Goes Blog asked:

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
There are two funny stories that both happened when I was working as a teller back home in East Texas.

1) I was working in the lobby and this woman (lesbian) came in and seriously looked like a man!! I was waiting on her and when I finished her transaction I was thanking her and well.. the conversation went something like this:
She-He: standing at the counter while I finished her transaction.
Me: "Thank you Sir, have a good day!"
Me: "Mam"
Me: "Sir"
Me: "Sorry, haveagoodday!"
Then I collapsed to the floor with embarrassment! My co-workers and I had a pretty good laugh at my expense!

2) This also happened while I was working at that same bank, but this time I was working in the drive-thru. A red truck pulled into one of my teller lanes. A guy was driving and in the passengers seat, there appeared to be a what looked like a little dog. We gave dog treats to the people that had dogs, but not everyone wanted them. After I finished the guys transaction, the conversation went a little something like this:
Me: "Okay Mr. (enter last name), you are all finished up. Can I send some dog treats for your little dog?"
UP POPS A WOMAN IN THE PASSENGERS SEAT!! What appeared to be a "little dog" was actually a woman with messy hair bent down looking for something in her purse in the floorboard.
Me: "OHMYGOSH! I'm so sorry..."
*panic*
Me: "I thought she was a.."
*CRAP*
Me: "OHMYGOSH! I'm not making it any better!"
I just said that? What? Not my best moment!
Guy: laughing histarically "HAHA, That's the best thing I heard all day! This is my wife.. HAHA!"
Once again I fell to the floor to hide my shame! At least he thought it was funny, however the other tellers said that she shot some dirty looks toward my window! Yikes..

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
Japan and Hawaii! Mr. D and I are both minoring in Japanese and we are applying for the JET Program. If we get accepted, we will hopefully be leaving during the summer of 2011 to live in Japan and teach English for 1-3 years. I have also been dying to go back to Hawaii! I think about it all the time. I can't wait to go back, hopefully sooner than later! :)

Favorite quote?
“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart” - Helen Keller

I also have another favorite that my Dad would always say.

"The time has come, the Walrus said"

It's a quote from his favorite childhood poem that was in Alice and Wonderland. I posted the poem on my blog a few months ago. You can read it here.

Stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow! :)

72 cupcakes is quite a feat!

My dad grew up (K-12) in Japan bc his father was in the air force. My grandmother still goes back each year for a month to visit - they absolutely loved it there!
